This is an innovative project that envisages working on the dismantling of waste heaps (truncated cone and flat part) of the former mine #40 in Luhansk Region. The project calls for implementing a full processing cycle for coal beneficiation and washing after its extraction from the waste heap to loading as an end-product in automobile transport. The project includes installation of coal extraction units and grading for extracted coal. The extracted coal is then sold for heat and power production. Coal extraction from the mine’s waste heap will prevent greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere as. The project essentially produces additional amounts of coal instead without mining. A decision on the project was taken in 2007 and the operations at the facility commenced on the 1stof October 2009.
