The programme of activities (PoA), “Kriger Biomass Boilers in Ukraine”, involves the installation of new biomass-fired heat generating systems, the replacement of existing fossil fuel-fired heat generating systems and the retrofit of fossil fuel-fired heat generating systems to biomass-based heat generation system as examples of project activities across Ukraine. This program is purely a voluntary initiative undertaken by “Kriger Energia” Ltd, which is the coordinating and managing entity of the program. The goal of the program is to reduce GHG emissions by installing biomass-based heat generation systems that will utilize the available biomass in the country. The installed boilers will provide heat energy for the heating and hot water needs for a wide range of customers in residential, public, commercial and industrial sectors of Ukraine.
