The plant OJSC INTERPIPE NTRP is a large manufacturer of tubes and railway wheels with a designed capacity of 835 700 tonnes of finished steel products per year. The goal
of the project is to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by replacing inefficient equipment with modern and more energy efficient equipment, implementing energy-saving manufacturing technologies, and modernizing operational equipment in order to enhance energy-efficiency. Four sub-projects will include modernization: the walking-beam furnace, electrical equipment with frequency converters, the air supply system of the plant, and railway-wheel manufacturing technology.
