Mr. Erik Saat - Director
Erik Saat is director and co-founder of Global Carbon B.V. Erik has an extensive network of contacts in the international GHG emission reductions market with governments and companies in Central and Eastern Europe and in Central America. His responsibilities at Global Carbon include the managing of operations in Bulgaria, Ukraine and business development in Russian Federation.
Previously, Erik Saat worked with Dutch governmental agency SenterNovem and Lucent Technologies.There, he was responsible for the purchase of carboncredits from Bulgaria, the Czech and Slovak Republic, Kroatia as well as from Panama, Costa Rica and El Salvador. The contracts he concluded on behalf of the Dutch government in these countries exceed 28 million CERs and ERUs. Before his work with the Dutch government Erik worked with Alstom Power Sales in Mexico and gained experience in business development in the energy sector in Western Europe.
He holds a Masters in Thermal Power Engineering from the Delft University of Technology. Besides Dutch, he speaks English, German and Spanish.
Mr. Lennard de Klerk - Director
Lennard de Klerk is director and co-founder of Global Carbon B.V. Lennard de Klerk has been one of the pioneers of Joint Implementation, in particular in developing the mechanism in Ukraine and Russia. His responsibilities at Global Carbon include the managing of the operations in Ukraine and business development in the Russian Federation.
Lennard has extensive work experience and background in Eastern Europe. Previously, he was deputy manager of the Carboncredits.nl team at the Dutch governmental SENTER Agency. There, he was responsible for the development of GHG emission reduction projects in Ukraine, the Baltic States and the Russian Federation. In addition, he also managed the purchasing of GHG credits from South America. Before his work with the Dutch government, he managed the Kyiv office of the Dutch consultancy and engineering company Tebodin. Assignments involved institutional projects like Tacis and EBRD, as well as from commercial clients.
Lennard holds a Masters in Electrical Power Engineering from the Delft University of Technology. He studied at the Technical University of Berlin and at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. Besides Dutch, he speaks English, German and Russian.
Mr. Milen Milev - Commercial Director Bulgaria
Milen Milev is commercial director at the Bulgarian office in Sofia. His responsibilities at Global Carbon include identifying and developing of emissions reductions projects in Bulgaria.
Milen participates actively in the Bulgarian carbon market where his expertise adds value both to the policy and market development of the carbon trading process.
Milen has built profound insights into the emissions trading opportunities under the Kyoto protocol and the European Trading Scheme through the developing of the business activities of Global Carbon in Bulgaria.
Milen gained his theoretical knowledge in Technical University - Sofia, Bulgaria, as well as in University of Applied Sciences – Offenburg, Germany. His native language is Bulgarian, but he also speaks English, German and Russian.
Mrs. Nina Korobova - Managing Director Russia
Mrs. Nina Korobova is managing director at the Russian office in Moscow. Her responsibilities at Global Carbon comprise development of carbon business in Russia, ensuring quality of documentation prepared, cash flow analysis for projects developed.
She is the leading carbon expert in Russia and is member of the expert group on KP implementation under the Chamber of Industry and Commerce RF. She has got experience working with the ministries and companies of almost all EECCA countries, having IBRD, EBRD, OECD, DEPA, UNEP and other international organizations as clients. She worked on the buyer side helping developing and ensuring PDD quality and potential risk reduction and taking part in ERPA negotiations.
Her profound scientific background enables to her to introduce innovative approaches in tasks implemented. As professional trainer she insures capacity building of project teams and can develop and perform specific training causes to meet client’s demand.
She holds PhD in Economics and Environmental Economics from the Russian Academy of Sciences. Besides Russian, she speaks English, French and Italian.
